The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that BYJU, the company providing educational technology and online education, is the main sponsor of the Indian team. This company will now replace OPPO, the mobile maker, on the Indian team’s jersey. The company will be the sponsor of the Indian team from 5 September 2019 to 31 March, 2022. BYJU will now appear on the Indian team’s jersey from the domestic series against South Africa in September. I congratulate BYJU on becoming the new sponsor of the Indian team. The BCCI and the BYJU will work together to take Indian cricket forward. ‘An BCCI official said that in this deal, the BCCI will get the same amount as the OPPO company was giving. There is no loss in it. These deals will last till March 31, 2022. It is worth mentioning that BYJU was founded by Kerala entrepreneur Byju Ravindran, whose present value is Rs. 38 thousand crores.
